 Dr. Eric Mussen is the Extension Apiculturist for UC-Davis. He is housed in the Entomology Department of the UC Davis campus. For the past 34 years, Dr. Mussen has organized and delivered various extension programs to beekeepers and others interested in honey bees and crop pollination. He has published a bimonthly newsletter for 34 years, with copies of editions since 1994 available on his webpage. He also has topical articles on important aspects of beekeeping, called "Bee Briefs", on his webpage. Dr. Mussen is a member of the American Association of Professional Apiculturalists, Entomological Society of America, Northern California Entomological Society, California State Beekeepers' Association, Western Apicultural Society, American Beekeeping Federation and the American Honey Producers' Association. Dr. Mussen received his bachelor's degree in 1966 from the University of Massachusetts, his master's and PhD from the University of Minnesota in 1969 and 1975, respectively.  Jerry Hayes is the chief of the Apiary Inspection Section for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Division of Plant Industry. Hayes participates in the CCD Working Group, the BIP Board and is a Project Apis m. Science Advisor. In addition, he has authored the “Classroom” column in the American Bee Journal for 25 years from which the book of the same name was developed. Hayes is also an author or co-author on 20+ honey bee research papers.

 Gordon Wardell is a bee biologist for Paramount Farming and President of the South Valley Bee Club. He was previously associated with USDA-ARS, Tucson. Gordon has been a beekeeper for many years, formulated Mega-Bee, the supplemental feed, conducted research on nutrition, mites, small hive beetle, Africanized Honey Bees, and many other topics. In addition, he has authored numerous scientific publications on honey bees.

 Randy started beekeeping 1966 and has "seriously" since 1980. He holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from U.C. Irvine and a M.S. in Fisheries Biology from Humboldt State University.
